The group and the company were built with a core purpose to transform our increasing spheres of influence and improve the quality of life by building institutions that provide access to better opportunities to more people, all the time. In the last 10 years, Mangal industries has experienced a significant growth, marked by robust financial performance and expansion into new markets by aligning to his vision.

We have recorded~ Rs 1,350 crores by revenue by March 2025, post divestment of plastics division’s stake, with an 8% PBT, showcasing our resilience and strategic quality. 

Mangal Industries is predominantly a design-led manufacturing firm and is part of the $2 billion Amara Raja Group. Founded in 1990, the company is an internationally renowned evolving design-led manufacturing company that delivers quality and innovative solutions to diverse markets and applications especially in Component Solutions.

Our vision is to position Mangal Industries as a global leader in design-led manufacturing, targeting ₹5000-8000 crores in 5-8 years through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. We are leveraging India’s manufacturing boom via white-labelling and asset-light supply chains, enhancing scalability and margins. Design-Led Manufacturing: Integrated design teams accelerate development of tailored solutions across auto components, injection-moulded plastics, and metal fabrication — enabling faster innovation and better customer alignment.

In-House Testing: Internal validation systems ensure high reliability, safety, and compliance across industries like automotive, power systems, reducing time-to-market and dependency on external labs.

Quality Assurance Integration: End-to-end QA is embedded throughout production — from robotic welding in metal fabrication to scalable warehouse solutions — ensuring consistent quality, minimized defects, and long-term durability.

The plastics components division of Mangala Industries was de-merged through a backward integration plan and merged with Amara Raja Energy & Mobility. It reduced lead times and optimizes costs, and the ongoing consolidation efforts are unlocking synergies across procurement and production.

Enabling Expansion into New Sectors

We are looking at investments of new plants in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana and exploring colocation with marquee clients which will support our entry into high-growth areas such as Transportation, Power and Energy, Aerospace & Defence.

Digital Transformation & Global Competitiveness

We are advancing Mangal’s digital readiness through key initiatives like S/4HANA, Ariba, IIoT, and Blockchain Index. These technologies enhance transparency, automation, and decision-making—boosting workforce productivity and global competitiveness.

Strategic Growth & Global Ambition

Fire-Rated Metal Doors: Launched in 2024, our metal fabrication SBU uses fibre laser cutting and robotic welding to produce fire-rated doors for real estate, targeting ₹40 crores this year and exploring European exports via synergies with Amara Raja Infra.

Solar Railings: A standout example is our collaboration with a leading global solar panel manufacturer, for whom we developed a state-of-the-art fabrication facility to produce precision-engineered solar mounting rails. This greenfield setup—executed in record time—features advanced roll forming, punching, and surface treatment capabilities tailored to the client’s evolving product architecture and export requirements

Fasteners: Our fasteners division co-develops specialized high-tensile fasteners for Auto OEMs and in process of expanding to Export market, ensuring operational precision with poka-yoke and Six Sigma quality systems.

As a manufacturer serving both automotive and non-automotive sectors, how are you balancing traditional manufacturing excellence with next-generation smart manufacturing?

Mangal Industries blends its legacy of precision manufacturing with advanced technologies to serve both automotive and non-automotive sectors. Its traditional strength lies in robust, integrated production processes—ranging from forging and wire processing to surface treatment—underpinned by rigorous quality systems like Poka-Yoke, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.

Building on this foundation, we have adopted smart manufacturing practices and state of art machinery such as fibre laser cutting, robotic welding, CNC machining, and SCADA-enabled monitoring to boost productivity, consistency, and control. The integration of automation and digital workflows extends across operations, enhancing both speed and accuracy.

digital-first capability, paired with a flexible manufacturing setup, allows Mangal to efficiently scale and adapt to diverse sectors including renewable energy, metro rail, and industrial applications. Crucially, Mangal Industries invests in upskilling its workforce to bridge traditional expertise with emerging technologies, ensuring long-term capability and innovation readiness.

Sustainability is becoming non-negotiable. What initiatives has Mangal Industries taken towards sustainable manufacturing practices?

In FY24, the company commissioned a 1 MW rooftop solar plant, raising its renewable energy share to 22%, with a target of 28% next year. This shift, alongside energy optimization projects, led to a 28% drop in carbon intensity and a 15% reduction in energy usage. We also follow ISO 14001:2015 standards for water stewardship, and has cut landfill waste by 50%, with a clear roadmap toward zero landfill and 100% recycled raw materials in lead-based production.

Digital tools play a key role in tracking sustainability performance. Real-time monitoring systems for energy and water use, along with ESG-focused MIS dashboards, enable data-driven decisions and continuous improvement. On the social front, the firm has halved its Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate through proactive safety initiatives and invests in employee wellness and training. 

Looking ahead, what role do you see Mangal Industries playing in the new India’s manufacturing narrative — especially with trends like localization, green manufacturing, and global supply chain shifts?

Mangal Industries is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping India’s next-generation manufacturing ecosystem one that is local in spirit, global in standards, and sustainable by design.

As global companies de-risk supply chains and look to India as a preferred manufacturing hub, Mangal is well-positioned with its white-label and asset-light manufacturing model, enabling rapid scalability. We’re strengthening local supplier ecosystems and reducing import dependency, especially in precision components, tooling, and automation—supporting India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.

On the green manufacturing front, we’ve already commissioned a 1 MW rooftop solar plant, increased renewable energy usage to 22%, and reduced carbon intensity by 28% in FY24. With a goal to reach 100% recyclable inputs in lead-based production and near-zero landfill, sustainability is embedded in our growth roadmap.

Strategically, we’re expanding our global footprint and at the same time, new segments like solar infrastructure and smart mobility components position us to serve the next wave of industrial growth.

We will deepen our presence in high-growth markets like automotive, EVs, renewable energy.

Mangal will evolve into an Industry 4.0 leader, integrating advanced technologies and workforce development We’ll achieve 35-40% automation, ensuring job stability. Our Digital Engineering Solutions will drive innovation across product lifecycles, backed by Six Sigma and ISO certifications.
