Our new year started with a new variant of Covid-19 and new rounds of restriction in the country, which impacted everyone including us in the manufacturing sector. Trade Shows, notably IMTEX 2022 got postponed from January.
As per a recent notification, IMTEX FORMING 2022 and Tooltech 2022 along with Digital Manufacturing 2022 will now be held from 16 to 21, June 2022 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).
January was also the month when Meshmix Media started its new initiative called Makers & Movers 2022, a fortnightly thought leadership series. It will have us discuss important issues with Manufacturing & Supply chain leader.
I personally took this opportunity to complete reading the Book Ikigai: the Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life. I found the book very inspiring and comforting. This book will show you how to leave urgency behind, find your purpose, nurture friendships, and throw yourself into your passions. The book is full of lessons about mindfulness and being happy in this fast and modern world. I would like to recommend this book as the concept will help everyone in their personal and professional journey – find your Ikigai.
The world is also seeing The Great Resignation where people who are not happy either with the pay, work culture, or working conditions are leaving jobs and the industry is facing the heat to retain the right talent. CEOs and founders are being confronted with the new reality and finding it challenging to retain the right talent. There is serious debate and discussion about this topic. Companies are framing their policy keeping the future workforce in mind.
