Former CEO of sensor company Vega leads OndoSense together with co-founder Mathias Klenner.
Freiburg, 28 February 2023 — The German radar specialist OndoSense expands its management team: Co-founder Dr. Mathias Klenner is now managing the company together with Rainer Waltersbacher (56). Waltersbacher previously held various leading positions at the international sensor manufacturer Vega — most recently as CEO of Vega Grieshaber KG. As Co-CEO of OndoSense, he will be responsible for business development and sales, while Klenner will oversee innovation and finance. Co-founder and CTO Dr. Axel Hülsmann will continue to focus on the technological development of the company. “I am very pleased that we were able to win Rainer Waltersbacher for OndoSense. With his personality, skills, and experience, he is ideally suited to further drive OndoSense’s growth in the industrial radar sensor market. Co-managing the company not only enables us to ideally combine our competencies: We are also adopting an advanced model of shared management responsibility that our employees can identify with,” says Co-CEO Klenner.

Prior to his appointment as CEO at OndoSense, Waltersbacher (56) held various management positions at the international sensor producer Vega Grieshaber for many years. Most recently, he was in charge of development and production as CEO of Vega Grieshaber KG from 2017 to 2022. Previously, from 2008 to 2016, he was CEO of Supfina Grieshaber GmbH & Co. KG, a company of the Grieshaber Group specialized in special-purpose machinery. From 2000 to 2008, Waltersbacher was the Director of Marketing and Product Management at VEGA Grieshaber.
