Dormer Pramet has revamped its general product catalogue, featuring more than 20,000 cutting tools, by dividing it into four publications across the main application categories – hole making, milling, turning and threading.
The global manufacturer has produced a set of four catalogues to allow customers to easily find the tools which are relevant to their machining operations. Also, it is the first time the company has brought together its indexable and round tools assortment within the same publications.
In addition to information about its wide assortment, Dormer Pramet’s new catalogues provide detailed and helpful machining information, such as relevant speeds, feeds, suitable workpiece material groups and ISO classifications.
A consistent structure and simple navigation layout are used right across all four publications, making sure readers can find easily accessible information all in one location.
Prashant Patkar, interim sales manager at Dormer Pramet India, said: “These publications are a collection of what we do and what we have been good at for more than a century. We are experts at manufacturing the products customers need to improve productivity, versatility, and quality across a wide range of engineering environments.

“Workpiece Material Group classification, for example, will support customers in making a quick and reliable selection of the tools they need. Not only will it provide the starting values for machining conditions in particular applications, but it will also provide product information according to ISO 13399 standards. This opens the door for efficient data exchange and smooth communication between systems.
“From the navigation to technical support, through to the specific product pages they have all been created with our customer in mind. Alongside a short text introducing the relevant tool, is the more detailed product description, imagery, icons depicting the most suitable usage and machining data.
“In the Turning catalogue, all our chip breakers are described directly inside the product page, taking you through all the available options for each of the six basic ISO material groups. Also, we offer an overview of the available grades and their features at the beginning of every relevant chapter, while our inserts are presented together with the relevant tool holders. Just match the right sizes and away you go.”
