AeroDef Structures Launched to Build Global Aerospace Capacity in India
AeroDef Structures launches its Bengaluru aerospace manufacturing facility to develop advanced structures, composites, tooling and engineering capabilities, supporting India’s ambition to become a global aerospace manufacturing hub.
Bengaluru, September 10, 2026 — AeroDef Nexus today announced the launch of AeroDef Structures, its dedicated aerospace structures and advanced manufacturing company in Bengaluru, marking the next stage in its ambition to build globally competitive aerospace capability from India.
AeroDef Structures’ first manufacturing facility is now operational at the MSME Technology Centre in Devanahalli, with initial customer parts entering production soon, including its engagement with NextLeap Aeronautics as a structures production partner.
The facility focuses on aerospace structures, advanced composites, tooling, engineering, and repair, with capabilities progressively expanding into advanced composite processes, qualification and scaled production.
Built within a ₹156-crore advanced-manufacturing ecosystem:
The facility is located within the newly inaugurated MSME Technology Centre Bengaluru, a ₹156-crore, 10-acre advanced-manufacturing centre supporting aerospace and ESDM capabilities.
The Centre provides the broader manufacturing ecosystem; AeroDef Structures is building its own aerospace-specific people, processes, quality systems, manufacturing IP, supplier network and customer base within it.
From structures to aircraft
AeroDef Nexus is building toward a long-term platform spanning manufacturing and proprietary aerospace products.
The company today unveiled ARX-1, its emerging proprietary aerospace program, currently at the concept and system-definition stage. The aircraft is intended to be fully autonomous STOL cargo/ISR aircraft with 2-ton payload capacity.
Its long-term targets include:
- 5+ strategic aircraft programs
- 1,000+ MSMEs and tiered suppliers
- $250M+ ecosystem investment catalysed
- 25,000+ direct and indirect jobs
These are long-term development targets, not current achievements.
“We are not building just another aerospace job shop. We are building the manufacturing foundation first with customers, real hardware and real production capability and using that foundation to progressively move into larger aerospace programs and products of our own,” said Hardik Someshvar, Founder & CEO, AeroDef Nexus and AeroDef Structures.
Company ‘s roadmap is to build manufacturing depth today, industrialise through 2027–31, scale into larger aerospace programs, and ultimately develop aircraft of its own.
The ambition is measured in decades: to build a globally respected aerospace enterprise from India by 2047.
