Redefining the Cutting Edge
Mr. Luca Matteucci, Managing Director, Marposs India, on how Marposs is fusing innovation, precision, and responsibility in the machine tool sector.
What does “intelligent manufacturing” mean to you, and how is your organization contributing to this transformation?
Intelligent manufacturing means using advanced technologies like AI, IoT, and data analytics to create smarter, more efficient, and adaptive production systems. Marposs contributes by providing high-precision measurement, monitoring, and inspection solutions that enable real-time process control, predictive maintenance, and improved product quality—key components in the shift toward intelligent manufacturing.
Can you share a recent breakthrough or initiative that helped empower your customers or channel partners in a significant way?
A recent Marposs initiative is the integration of AI-driven analytics into our in-process measurement systems, enabling customers to predict defects and optimize production in real time. This has significantly improved efficiency and reduced downtime, empowering both customers and channel partners with smarter manufacturing capabilities.
How is your company embracing sustainability in machining – from materials to energy and lifecycle design?
At Marposs, we are committed to sustainability through the use of energy-efficient machinery, material recycling, and streamlined processes to minimize waste. Our designs prioritize durability and lifecycle efficiency, promoting environmentally responsible manufacturing across the entire value chain. In line with this vision, we developed C-Energy—a solution that monitors the energy consumption of both production machines and auxiliary systems such as compressors and cooling units.
What role are MSMEs and local suppliers playing in your machine tool ecosystem, and how are you enabling their growth?
MSMEs and local suppliers are vital to our machine tool ecosystem, contributing agility and innovation. We support their growth through technical collaboration, skill development, and by integrating them into our quality-driven supply chain.
How do you see digital technologies (like AI, IoT, or digital twins) redefining machine tool applications in the next 3–5 years?
Digital technologies such as AI, IoT and digital twins are set to transform machine tool applications. At Marposs, they will help us enable predictive maintenance, real-time process optimisation and smarter, data-driven manufacturing for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Talent is a core driver of future-ready manufacturing. How are you re-skilling or upskilling your workforce for the new era?
Marposs is actively investing in re-skilling and upskilling through continuous training programs through digitally, and hands-on workshops to equip our workforce with the latest skills in automation, data analytics, and smart manufacturing.
What values or leadership principles guide your decision-making in balancing innovation, business growth, and social impact?
